Wandering Creatures was an augmented reality installation at Auckland Zoo in which magical flying birds nested around the site. Aided by otherworldly guides or bespoke maps, Zoo guests could discover the creatures in their bird houses. The event included workshops for children who coloured in templates of the creatures on paper. The colours were then uploaded as an update to the app. In this way the birds were helped to feel at home by the children. (A Creative Communities funded project)
