Location: Drury School
Date: July to October 2015
This mixed reality based AwhiWorld environnmental programme created a platform for students to identify and celebrate the special places and spaces the contribute to the spirit of their school.
AwhiCreatures took up residence in very special spots around the school (identified by a whole school exercise). These creatures resided in specially built houses and are activated through mobile devices.
In a series of workshops students created site and creature specific poems, stories and creative audio works. They also designed creature houses and given the creatures their own site specific skins.
The programme was supported by Papakura Local Board and Auckland City Council’s Enviroschools Programme.
