AwhiWorld and Sistema Whangarei created an interactive site specific sound installation celebrating the space outside the Old Library building in Whangarei CBD. Sistema Whangarei transforms the lives of children in the local community through orchestral music training. 11.11 Armistice was a silent two night outdoor live visual projection performance commemorating Armistice Day. The work was a collaboration between AwhiWorld and Creative Northland and included WW100 commemoration content and original 2 and 3D animations. Quarry Sounds

Models and Modelling

I am interested in different kinds of physical crafting techniques including modelling with different materials like clay and cardboard. The creatures that choose to emerge from those materials are often then used in my VJ performances or form the prototypes for larger installations. Sometimes they just exist to be themselves and find their place in the world.  

Awhi Creatures Drury School – Mixed Reality Workshops and Installation

Augmenting Elders: AR Workshops with the Elderly

Augmenting Elders is an ongoing AwhiWorld collaboration with seniors and staff at Elmwood, a retirement village in Manurewa, South Auckland. It involves a number of events and projects which bring traditional craft together with emerging technology. Project 1:  I used the mixed reality ‘Love Creatures’ app and ‘Wandering Creatures’ apps to help the elders learn about this technology. Awhi Tower – Site Specific Installation

Location: Nathan Homestead, Manurewa Date: February March 2018 Awhi Tower was a site specific interactive work with AwhiWorld located in a old water tower at the Nathan Homestead in Manurewa, South Auckland. Awhi Creatures Papakura – Augmented Reality Installations

Awhi Flora – Mixed Reality Workshops and Installations

Awhi_Flora was an AwhiWorld mixed reality mobile app available from the Google Play Store. Awhi Flora is based on New Zealand native flora and includes 3D animated flowers and physical seed markers. Awhi_Flora is a tool to support community engagement, to open minds and weave together different realities. It was tested and developed as part of the Augmenting_Elders programme I co-facilitated and then immediately put to use in the community
